shoot the pauses

I am taking a night class at the prairieview school of photography in the city. I had my work displayed for critique for the first time and I almost passed out but everyone was so kind and constructive and it's a 3 hour class and all I can think of the whole time is how much I love this, how much this is exactly what I'm supposed to be doing. (and it scares me.)

I have so much to learn.

I did not see you coming

wednesday morning, 6:30am. I was getting ready for work and then suddenly I wasn't. "pack your bags. bring your passport. we'll tell you why later." and then the sun was coming up and we were driving down the interstate to Minneapolis to see the Naked and Famous and Imagine Dragons and they told me they'd been planning this since November and it was for my birthday and I had no idea, I had no idea why anyone do something so incredibly thoughtful, so extravagant for me.

the city stretched up towards the sun, you could see it waking up from the winter. we wandered around downtown, we happened upon a diner in a train car at midnight, we got so lost we almost reached Nebraska. I sang at the top of my lungs.
I hope I can learn to be as good of a friend as the ones that I love.
